Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Sunday

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY PLATINUM SPORTS INVESTING BLOG!

I'm happy to say that we've made it a year! Thanks
for the all the support. What I'm most proud of is
that while all the TOUT type services continue to flush
peoples money down the toilet, here at the PSIC blog we
made +120 units in NHL, +69 units in MLB, and we're up
a handful in football bringing us to approximately +200
units this year.

More than anything, I hope those of you that follow take
away the most important lesson of all....MONEY MANAGEMENT
is key to success!

Ok, yesterday was great for us here as both our NCAA
games were easy winners....Now lets see if we can get
some Sunday love from the NFL.

1. Tampa Bay +3....this is one of these games where
I feel it's a trap. Everything I've seen would say
Pittsburgh is going to roll but if that's the case
then why are the books offering a super soft -135 moneyline
when normally a 3 pt fav should be -150 or higher?
I'll take the 3 but seriously considering a moneyline play.

Houston -2.5...This game should be won or lost in the trenches
and Dallas has had big issues on the "O" line and I think
when push comes to shove Houston will be able to wear down
the Dallas defense. It's hard to imagine Dallas being 0-3
and because the public feels the same way it keeps this line
in check because if you look at performance Houston is
a touchdown to 10 points better. They spanked them when
starters played starters in week 3 of the pre-season and
I feel it's more of the same today.

PSIC Football Value System: Record (8-5) (+3.8 Units)

LINE 2: 10-10-10-10-10

On line 1 risk 28 to win 25 on Tampa +3

You can't really account for injuries so when
Delholme went out early in the game I had a feeling
it wasn't going to go our way.

No plays tonight so we will be back on Thurs.

We should have had an easy one yesterday with Nevada
but my own stupidity kept me off it. Today I won't make
that mistake. I've got 2 plays today guaranteed to
make you scratch your head so they're probably either
both easy winners or we'll all be scratching our
heads wondering what in the world we were thinking
but if last night's game proves anything it's that the
sportsbooks are pretty good when they gamble....

Minnesota +11.5

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Tuesday

A real real nice way to finish the week! It's good
to see some of you are coming around to a different
way of thinking. You're not going to win every play
when you stay on the side of the sportsbooks, but
Vegas wasn't built on winners so you'll certainly
win more than you'll lose.

So NFL has started off 3-0 for us and if we can
just get some co-operation from NCAA football we
might have something good rolling. We'll be back
on Thursday.

A nice way to cap off the weekend! The sharps
had things go their way for sure as both of
our plays were winners. No one ever said they'd
all be pretty but they won none the less.

Today it's close your eyes and bet time. I have
literally been receiving emails from clients, blog
followers, and really anyone who wanted to talk football
about how the Chargers are the best bet of the week.

I disagree.....

Kansas City +4.5...Like I said yesterday..I may look like a
complete idiot at the end of this game but it HAS TO BE A TRAP.
This line actually opened at 5.5 and despite massive public
betting on the game the line has come down to 4.5 which means
that the sportsbooks are gambling on this one. If they're
taking a side....I want to be on the same side as they are and
I'm willing to take a chance that they know something that I don't.

PSIC Football Value System: Record (4-2) (+2.8 Units)

LINE 1: 10-10-10-10
LINE 2: X-10-10-X

On line 1 risk 22 to win 20 on Kansas City +4.5

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Sunday

Finally we get to NFL Football. We were looking
sweet yesterday for the 2-0 Saturday until one
of the clowne backs from Army fumbled as they were
just trying to run the ball into the line to set
up a field goal. 30 seconds later Hawaii was a winner.

South Carolina was solid for us so just a day off the
calender and a few bucks in juice. Today we have
2 NFL plays....

We have 2 qualifiers today...

Houston +2...It's now or never for Houston. After dropping
their last 6 to INDY...now is the time for opening day revenge

Tampa Bay -2.5.... I haven't heard a single person give the Bucs
a chance in this game yet strangely enough they are still favored.
I'm either going to look stupid, won't be the first time, or a mad
scientist but I'm sticking with Tampa as they are a solid Value
Play qualifier.

PSIC Football Value System: Record (2-2) (-.2 Units)

LINE 1: 10-10-10-10-20
LINE 2: X-10-10-X

On line 1 risk 33 to win 30 on Houston +2

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Saturday

The Thundering herd got the job done for us in
easy fashion as the sportsbooks and sharps were
definately in the know on that one. I once had
a very prominent line maker tell me that: "The more
uncomfortable you are making the play....probably
the better the play." Isn't that the truth.
Some of, ok many of the plays on here may not be real
easy to play or may leave you scratching your head but
if most people lose (and believe me they do regardeless
of what they SAY)...why would you want to bet what they do?

Just a quick note. I get asked this a lot and
I want to share my thoughts on it with you not only
so you understand where I'm coming from but really
so you can make good decisions if you're trying to
find handicappers or handicapping services to follow.

So often people email or ask "What is your record in...."
My answer is usually the same...I DON'T KNOW. Some of
you probably know exactly what the record was for the
value system over the summer.....I have no clue. What
I do know is that whatever your base bet was...you MADE
68 UNITS IN PROFIT. I'll look at records when I do
research to see what would the best money management
system be to fit that program but records can be very
very deceiving. In MLB I get emails all the time from
people asking me about this service or that service and
you'll hear things like .."They said they hit 65% in MLB"
Well...ok but what they didn't tell you is that every play
is at -200 to -250 so at 65% you actually lose money in the
long run.

For all of you who follow this blog, there are good people
out there but football is the most bet sport and brings
out the most con-men so you really need to be careful.
If it looks like a pig and smells like a pig...chances
are that it's a pig.

For those of you who may be new gamblers...I would also
caution you to beware of some of what you see on the forums.
I think forums like Covers, Sbr, and the rx are fine places
to learn but inevitably you'll find someone on there with
a crazy 4 game or 5 or even 6 game chase / progression.
I know you all have seen things like that or someone with a
crazy record. Those chases and progressions all look great
on the forum thread but the bets get so high that no one could
ever play that much at any book or the average person would be
wiped out long long before you get to that ever critical
6th game of the chase.

Ok, I'll stop my rant but I just don't like to see good people
like all of you get shafted out of money needlessly. In the
mean time I'll keep doing my best to make us some money.

We have 2 qualifiers today...

South Carolina -3
Army -3

PSIC Football Value System: Record (1-1) ( Unit)

LINE 1: 10-10-10-10-20
LINE 2: X-10-10-X

On line 1 risk 33 to win 30 on South Carolina -3
On line 1 risk 33 to win 30 on Army -3

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Friday

Not exactly the start we were looking for. I'm not
upset that we lost...it's just one game but I have
to put my two cents in.

For all the SEC lovers who feel like the sun rises and
sets in that conference....I need to call out a big
fat BULLSHIT!! I've heard all week about how Boise
St. would finish 4th or 5th in the SEC. BULLSHIT...
Boise would beat EITHER of those two teams on the field
last night by double digits.

It all starts with the quarterback and both quarterbacks
were terrible. Neither could even start at a High School
like Glenbard or New Trier in Illinios or Erwin Hills in
North Carolina because they're both awful.

I'm not saying that Alabama isn't outstanding or Florida
won't finish the year in the top 10 but underneath the
top few teams is a big steaming pile of dog crap. A bunch
of fast guys with the football intelligence of a pop-warner
player.....Ok I feel a little better.

We do have one close your eyes play today....

Marshall +12.5 ....I know how bad they looked against
Ohio State and I also know that everyone in the world
is betting West Virginia. However, I also know that
the line is moving the wrong way based on the near
80% action on West Va. The sportsooks are betting
on Marshall so I will too.

PSIC Football Value System (-1 Unit)

LINE 1: 10-10-10-10-20
LINE 2: 10-10-10-10

On line 2 risk 22 to win 20 on Marshall +12.5

Football is back and it's time for the Platinum
Sports Investing Blog to kick into high gear.

I'll be posting picks here that are part of my
value system that I'm trying to create for each
sport. Baseball turned out very well and I can only
hope that football will be just as solid.

Today we have one play...

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Monday

A very nice summer and thanks to everyone who followed
along. Here are the final numbers on the value system:

PSIC Value System Starting 5-17-2010 - 8/30-2010 (+67.8 Units )
14 weeks at an average of 4.7 units per week....not too bad

System Record (48-4-1)

Game 1 Wins - 32
Game 2 Wins - 10
Game 3 Wins - 6
Failures - 4

I have a version of the value system I'm working on for football
and that will start this week. It points toward individually played
games. I'll have a labourchere line for NCAA and one for NFL
We'll see how it goes starting this week!
