Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Saturday

Ok we've had a few days to take a breath and we have no
NHL plays today but it was nice to have the worm turn in
our favor last week and chop the debt by about 30%

I know a lot of people bailed or are chasing and that's fine but the
crazy part is that we're one good week or even a few good days from
being -26...to being + units so those of you who have the proper
bankroll and are hanging in there this system has made over 50
units using the labourchere every year and most way more than that
so hang in there.

For today I'm going to give you a few NCAA Football games
that may get you some extra money.

Utah State +17.5....This line should be about +20 but it started at a very low
-15 and the public has taken the bait driving it up to +17.5...we'll side with
the sportsbooks on Utah State.

Rutgers  / Uconn OVER 44....Make sure you get this one UNDER 45.
45 is a key number ....24-21....31-14.....some common scores
end on 45 so get this number below 45 even if you have to buy it.

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( -26.5 Units @ $20 base)

Baby steps....that was nice to win one easy but now we need to go to
work on the game 2 line and start to chop it DOWN!

Well just like in the movie "What About Bob"  last night
we took baby steps.  It wasn't a good night but the fact that
it wasn't a complete disaster might mean better things ahead
as the winless Toronto squad actually got us a game 2 winner.

Today, 1 play:

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( -38.5 Units @ $20 base)

Line 1: X-15-15-55-65-65-70-70-70-75-100

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Monday

Seriously, when things go wrong they seem to go WAY wrong.
Losing on empty netters etc....when you research systems the hardest
part to feel is the streaks.  I'll bet no one remembers how we won the
first game 8 of the first 9 times as this last week has been an absolute nightmare.
I will say that playing at a 1% base wager I'm certainly down on the year
but not uncomfortable yet with the wagers so hopefully with a good week
we can clear out a big chunk of these lines and get back to profitable.

For some of you who may choose not to play or whatever I just want everyone
to know that no matter how bad the streak or no matter how things look I will
follow this through the entire NHL season so we all have a very real look at
the performance and not just on paper.

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( -33.5 Units @ $20 base)

Line 1: X-15-15-55-65-65-70-70-70-75
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-55-60-65-65-70-70-90

On the game 1 line risk 195 to win 90 on Phoenix +1.5 -220
On the game 2 line risk 189 to win 105 on Toronto +1.5 -180

We need a real big weekend to say the least.  The hockey gods

and now its time to get it back.   Time for the healing to begin.

Wow, that was ugly.   Just an FYI on the lines.....
Columbus had a line of 240 so it was risking 260 to win
105.   Instead of putting 130 on the end of line 1 and line 2
I added 65 and 65 to each line.

We need a big weekend to wipe out this deficit.

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Thursday

Well, not bad actually.  Our biggest lay, Dallas, was a winner
and we really chopped down the game 1 line with those two winners.
Carolina was a big disappointment.  Chasers, good luck to you guys
tomorrow with Carolina...I hope they get the job done for you.

Today, to prevent everyone from being freaked out by what I'm
going to do with the lines I'll walk everyone through what I've
done so you know why the lines look that way.

These were our lines at the start of yesterday:

Line 1: X-15-15-15-40-65-90
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-60-90

The first thing I do is cross out my winnings so on line 1 we
had 2 winners at 105 each so notice above I've highlighted 210
worth of numbers which would leave line 1 at:

Line 1: X-15-15

Next I add back my losers which in this case is the 140 from the
Carolina loss.  So NORMALLY my lines would look like this

Line 1: X-15-15-70
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-60-70-90

However, I recognize that line 2 has just had a little bad luck run
lately so I'm taking the whole 140 loss from Carolina and brining
it to line 1 where we can hopefully clear some of it out tonight.  Therefore
our lines look like this:

Line 1: X-15-15-70-70
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-60-90

Now, our line 2 doesn't get any longer and since the game 1 win%
over the past 5 years is near 70% we can take advantage and
hopefully clear out that money faster.

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( -1.5 Units)

Line 1: X-15-15-70-70
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-60-90

On the game 1 line risk 110 to win 85 on Detroit Red Wings -130
On the game 2 line bet to win 105 on Columbus Blue Jackets (line not out yet)

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Wedensday

That's why it's so important to have a base bet of 1%
with this NHL!   I warned you guys that there would be
some uncomfortable moments.   If you're at a base
of 1% you're not even sweating the upcoming wagers
but if you're not....many of you will bail.

Also, I must have received 10 emails in the last 2 days
about why not martinagle?   Going into last night
the chasers were quick to point out that they were up 10
or 11 units where we were up only 4.

Guys and gals, chasing always looks good when there
are good runs but I'm here to tell you that there is a
very very good reason why not 1 person that I can honestly
say makes their living betting on sports EVER chases.
Not one.  Oh sure there are a million people on the
forums who claim to make all this money chasing
and for a time some of you will.   I'm just here to tell you
that at some point it ends bloody for every chaser.

How soon we forget MLB 08...right...where the Morrison
followers had 7 chase losses that summer and lost nearly
100 units.  You won't read about that on his website because
he added some filters, filters that were suspiciously exactly
like mine, and then back tested and said hey I would  have
been 41-0 so suddenly thats what his  record was for 08 but those
of you who are not so new to sports betting....you  remember.

Those of you who are new did not experience that and have
been on a very good run chasing for probably the last year...
well except for that nasty WNBA loss that wiped out your entire
seasons profits in one fell swoop.

Look, Kongkiller (covers) and I went back on this thing
for over 5 years and the AVERAGE amount of losses each
year is 5-6.   Now, you might be thinking that 5-6 losses at the
normal chase loss rate of about 18 units would still leave you
40-50 units at the end of the year but the problem is that in
NHL.....losses are often MUCH steeper.  For example, if
Minnesota would have lost game 3 last week it would have
been a 42 unit loss.   42 UNITS!!!   You have to be out of your
damn mind to have all that money out there to pick up 1 unit
of play.

So to answer a lot of the questions....yes I understand the
martingale very well, yes I know you've had a good run through
basketball and baseball and the early part of NHL, however,
understand that prior to last season there hasn't been a year
in NBA with LESS than 2 losses, you'll probably have 5 losses
at least in NHL so eventually the law of averages are going
to crash down on you and I don't want to see all you good people
wiped out of the game.   You'll work a whole year to build a nice bankroll
and be at the western union re-loading in 1 bad week.

Again, I don't care if you're doing it, that's your choice but
now you know why I choose not to so you don't have to email
about that..I know you're ahead more by chasing right now, lets
see how that holds up long term...not just a week.

Today , hopefully we go from -5 on the season to + 10 with a little
3-0 sweep!!

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( -5.0 Units)

Line 1: X-15-15-15-40-65-90
Line 2: X-15-15-15-40-40-40-60-90

On the game 1 line risk 122 to win 105 on Buffalo -115
On the game 1 line risk bet to win 105 on Dallas (line not available)
On the game 2 line risk 140 to win 105 on Carolina -130

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Tuesday

Hello everyone we are back with one play today.

Now before we get to it I just want to address some questions
that I received over the past few days.  First off, remember
that with this NHL program there are times when you will
have a lot of money at risk and if you're going to play...
you must have a very small base amount.   Ive done the back
research and it is very profitable but you'll have some swings
where you might be ahead 10 units on the season and then
2 days later you're even but 3 days later you're up 15.  That is
the nature of the beast.

So you have to look in the mirror and ask if this kind of thing
is for you.  Some of you may have the temperment to grind it
out but some of you may not so just understand that with HIGH
lays can equal some interesting swings.

Ok, lets get back to it and go COLUMBUS!

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Saturday

Hello everyone and good Saturday to you!

Before we get to the NHL a few items of note.

First, I've done more research and have found that the second
three games of a 6 game or longer road trip do not perform up
to what I expect and therefor we will no longer split long road
trips into 2 plays.  That also means I'm not playing or recommending
that you play the LA Kings.   We'll eat the money on the game
1 loss and get it back as we clear our lines.

Second, I've received a lot of questions about bankroll.  Proper
bankroll on a system like this with high vig is about 1%-2% as
a base wager.  Now many of you may not want to hear that but
that is the reality of the situation because by using the labourchere
it is a mathematical certainty that we will win provided you don't
out bet your bankroll and bust  yourself.  So 1%-2% is your
base wager.

Ok, on to tonights festivities in NHL

We were kind of due for one of those so hopefully a lot
of you chose option B.  There are no plays today so we'll
be back tomorrow.

To answer the question of "how did the lines get like....below"
I always cross out my winners so the St. louis win cleared line
1 so I set up a new line 1 and added back the losers.  Although
the losses were 81...I dropped the dollar and kept it an even
40 / 40 split between lines 1 and 2.

As for units we were at 9.1.....we lost 51 on the Kings and 81 on
San Jose.  We won 30 on St. louis so we were left with 102/20 or
-5.1.

Welcome back as we steam roll towards the weekend with
3 NHL Plays today....

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +9.1 Units)

Line 1: X-15-15-X-X
Line 2: 15-15-15-15-40-45

On the game 1 line risk 81 to win 30 on San Jose +1.5 -270
On the game 1 line risk 81 to win 30 on St. Louis +1.5 -270
On the game 1 line bet to win 30 on LA Kings +1.5 ( Line not out yet)

**Optional Plan B**  For those of you who do not like the
heavy lays what you could do is put out a 1 unit  parlay on all
3 teams.  If you look at the possible options it may not be a bad
way to go.  If we lose 1 or 2 of the games and you miss your
parlay, the 30 you'd lose is not much more than you'll lose
straight up...especially if we lost 2 or 3 games you'd be saving
big bucks.  If we hit the parlay it will pay not quite 2-1 so we
collect less on a sweep but you also have approximately 200
less at risk.   Those of you on short bankrolls may want to consider
this option.

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Wednesday

Ok a nice easy winner last night with the Avalanche...just the
way we like it.

Today we have no plays on this blog as I have tested out this
system and the optimal way to play with the labourchere is to
play games 1 and 2.  Since we aren't chasing there is no need
for us to bother with game 3 Minnesota so today there are no
plays.

I do want to take a moment to answer some of the questions
that have come in and how I would handle certain situations.
First, my unit calculations were off.  Going into yesterday we
should have been at 6.1 instead of 7.25.  I wasn't actually
doing the math but I was going by the balance in my NHL account
so somehow I'm a unit ahead but after yesterdays win 9.1 is the
accurate figure.

Second, I've received a few emails and comments on what to do
if you have lines like this

X-X-10-X-X
X-10-10-10-20

You have a few options here.  Often WHAT I DO is when I
have one number remaining on my line I just "clear" the line and
start it fresh.   OR what you could do is "borrow" 10 from your
line 2 and make your lines like this:

X-X-10-10-X
X-10-10-10-10

Either way will work.  Don't stress out about lines...the Labourchere
is a money managment TOOL to help you get from A to B.

Have a good day off even though I know some of you will probably
still be playing game 3 with Minnesota.   Anyone who's chasing
double good luck and I hope you stop chasing because if you look
back at each season there are approx 7 losses each year which would
make it impossible to be profitable by chasing but I know some
of you will have to learn the hard way so good luck to you.

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +9.1 Units)

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Tuesday

Hello boys and girls we are back with some NHL action
today.

First I want to take a moment to explain the unit calculation.
If  you were doing a martingale or a chase plan on this NHL and
20 was your base starting point like ours was on this blog, you would
probably not have a chance to raise that much during the year
because you always have to fear the "GAME 3".  One of the
greatest features of the Labourchere that is often overlooked is
the fact that we CAN raise our bets without that fear.

So when comparing apples to apples....when we raise our wager
from 20 to 30, it's not fair to the labourchere to have to raise your
base unit of evaluation.   If you go through the whole season and
stay at 20 base unit and make 50 units....you'd make $1000 for the
season.  Well with our Labourchere...if you start the season at
a $20 wager and end the season at a $60 wager if you make the
same 50 units...we will make more than DOUBLE the person
who just stayed at $20.   So when I calculate units it's all based
on our $20 starting unit.  The fact that we can safely raise our
bet shouldn't be a penalty to us but a bonus.  So right now at a
base bet of $30 our wins and losses are = to 1.5 units.   By keeping
our units in this manner you will get a TRUE feel at the end of the
season why the Labourchere will kick the shit out of anyone who
thinks they are going to do this NHL progam and chase.  There will
be losses...(about 8 every year) and the 3 game chasers will be busted where
we will continue to work on games 1 and 2 and make 70-80 or more
units laughing all the way to the bank!

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +7.25 Units)

Line 1: X-15-15-15-45
Line 2: 15-15-15-15-40-45

On the game 1 line risk 150 to win 60 on Colorado +1.5 -250

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Saturday

Good Saturday to all of you.  We're back with NHL today
but first lets talk about a few NCAA Football Opportunities...

Indiana / Virginia OVER 47....Indiana scores.  They were even the only
team to put up a few scores on Ohio State over the past 3 weeks.  Virginia
is bad and favored so they will score too.  I'll be surprised if this isn't
close to the total at half.

Ohio / Akron OVER 51.....Another game where defense should be
completely optional.

Now, lets get to the NHL.....

First, I've had questions about how the units are calculated....I just don't have
the time today to go into the explanation in full..I'll come back to that at
another date.

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +8.1 Units)

Line 1: 15-15-15-15-35
Line 2: 15-15-15-15-40

On the game 2 line risk approx 90 to win 55 on Minnesota +1.5 -170
On the game 1 line risk 115 to win 50 on LA Kings +1.5 -230

A very solid day for us yesterday nearly going a perfect
5-0 but only the Minnesota Wild could make the Kings
look good :)

First off I want to thank those of you who have emailed
me about this blog and I'm glad you all like it.  Second
a few of you wanted to make a donation and I very much
appreciate that as well.   I've added a little "donations"
box on the right for those of you who are interested and
have inquired.   Again, Thank you.

Today we have a day off so enjoy it and we'll be back
in action tomorrow with some NCAA football
thoughts and more NHL

Go ahead and laugh at me if you will.  I accept all laughter
for taking the Twins.  I didn't know they had their batting
practice staff actually pitching in the game. (Nice Job Liriano
You HACK!)

I'm over it.

Today is a HUGE day in NHL with HUGE lays and no
safety net.  We just have to gut it out and have a great day..

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +5.3 Units)

Line 1: 15-15-15-15
Line 2: 15-15-15-15

On game 1 line risk 65 to win 30 on Atlanta +1.5 -215
On game 1 line risk 75 to win 30 on Minnesota +1.5 -250
On game 1 line risk 80 to win 30 on New Jersey +1.5 275
On game 1 line risk 68 to win 30 on Pittsburgh +1.5 -220
On game 1 line risk  ?? to win 30 on Colorado +1.5

Plan B**  If your bankroll can not support the above, the only
other recommendation I would have is to play the teams straight
up without the +1.5.  We do have some good teams today that will
probably win but as we saw the other night...the +1.5
is huge in NHL.  That's why we keep our bets small in
proportion to our bankroll because we have a large
volume of plays with this system.

Like I said....you never know when you're going
to need the 1.5 goals but when you do....you're sure
glad you have them.   Another real good night for
us.   If you did the parlay or played them straight
you were a winner.

Since we've cleared line 1.. 3 times now it's time
to raise our bets!  We have no plays today but get
ready because we have 5 Plays starting Thursday
which means a good chance for a HUGE week!

Platinum Sports Investing Blog - Tuesday

Another nice easy winner last night.  I feel I must caution you
very strongly.  Over the next few weeks you'll read on places
like Covers and Statfox about all these people with all the
answers and these great UNDERDOG NHL systems....
The by Mid-December they'll be completely busted and so
will your bankroll with them.

My stats team did an extensive study of every NHL game for
5 years in researching our favorites parlay system.  Every season
in October more underdogs win than any other month.  The favorites
will win more each following month.  The line makers are adjusting to
the teams etc.  So many of you are probably wondering why
even take the +1.5 goals..after all we haven't needed it.  You're
right...to this point our dogs have won outright and you may get
away with it in October but as the lines strengthen....you'll wish
you had +1.5.  I know the lays are heavy so keep your base
bet small and just follow the system and you'll make good  money
this season.

Ok, 2 new NHL plays today.....

NHL 2009 - 2010 ( +3.3 Units)

Line 1: X-10-10-X
Line 2: X-10-10-10-X

On the game 1 line risk 44 to win 20 on Dallas Stars +1.5 -230
On the game 1 line risk 50 to win 20 on Anaheim Ducks +1.5 -260

**Option B**  For today you could also do a 1.5 unit parlay ($30) parlay
of the two teams above on the puck line +1.5.   If you win them both you'll
collect a little less than if you bet them straight, however, if we go 1-1 you'll
lose the same amount with the parlay as you would have playing straight but
if both were to lose you'll save a WHOLE lot of bankroll by doing the parlay.
I AM PERSONALLY DOING THE PARLAY.   I just wanted to share
that with everyone.

Hello Everyone,

It's Saturday and we return to action with the NHL.  However,
before we do that I just want to point out some head scratching lines that
if you have the guts you just might get the glory today.

1. Michigan State -3.5.....Really?  Michigan is undefeated and State is 1-3
so what's wrong with this picture?  Someone smarter than us knows something and I want to be on their side...Take State.

2. Georgia - 3....The number 4 team in the land is a dog??  People keep betting LSU and the line keeps climbing.   Doesn't make sense...Dogs roll

pull a miracle 3rd period rally we'll end today at 1-1
I'll be happy to eat crow if they come back.
