My MLB totals method is 3 pronged
ACTION - I'm not an action junkie, but I know many players are into more action than I provide at times. There is a profitable version of this with PLENTY of action. These plays hit 56% (51-40) just playing them with no progression at all. If you do a 2 game chase on this method, you'd have 51 wins and 11 losses as of yesterday which equates to 51-33(each chase loss is 3 units) +18 units. For those of you who really like Chasing, the 3 game chase of the action method is up 46 units (60--2) which equals 60-14 as every 3 game chase loss is approximately 7 units.
PATIENCE - There is a patience version for those who wish to have higher win % but far less plays. This method has a straight up play win% of 59-60% (25-17) It can just be played straight, or it can be done in a 2 game chase that is 25-3 this season, which equates to 25-9 overall. Up 16 units. Now you aren't up as many units as the action version because of sheer volume, but your 16 units was much more stress free and less streaky
TOD's VERSION - Then finally, there is my preferred version which has produced a 2 game chase record of 25-2 thus far in the season. It is a hybrid of the Action and Patience versions using only the American League.
