Before we get to the plays for today there are a few things to go over. I feel compelled to talk about money management. Last week I received a few emails that were surprisingly the same theme..." you lose too much take me off your list" I find that odd when we are 35-15 on a Free Play that we NEVER play big juice and where the plays are clearly documented on our
Platinum Sports Investing Blog This got me thinking, what kind of insanely bad money management must someone be using to feel like because we lost 2 or 3 games in a row on a Daily Free Play that it is so horrible.
The NUMBER 1 reason people don't succeed in sports investing is simply that they don't know how or understand the math of managing your money. The problem is that you've been fed 3 decades of bullshit. And for newbies, it's worse because you don't realize that all the people that call you or email you and tell you that they have the game of the WEEK, MONTH, YEAR, or CENTURY......it's all bullshit. Sorry for the language but it's true. I spent 10 years working on the inside and met a handful of people who truly make their living betting sports. They all have the same formula. Find an edge, wager consistently, and understand your ROI.
If I told you that your 401k was going to double every year for the next 5 years you'd probably throw a party for whomever is managing it for you. You NEED...not maybe, not I'll think about it....no YOU NEED to think of sports investing the very same way. Master Investor members are up 52% on their bankroll heading into today. Our fiscal year starts with the kick off of NFL each year. I want our members to increase their bankroll by at least 100% each year. That may not sound like a lot because you've been bombarded with stupidity online about realistic expectations. There aren't many services out there making you 100 units a year. Lets do some math....if you started with $1000 and doubled it once a year for the next 5 years....$1000, $2000, $4000, $8000, $16000, $32,000....5 years from now you'd have 32000. You think your 401 k will have that kind of return? I don't think so. That is definitely a realistic possibility and that's being conservative.
You have to think about this like an investment. when you win 2,3,or more games in a row it's not time to LOAD UP. If you lose 2,3,or more games in a row it's not time to chase......you have to plan and maintain a consistent investment strategy mindset. Make you base wager 1% of your bankroll. If you have a larger bankroll ...say $5-10k or more, why not start at 1/2%. You want to bet amounts that are comfortable enough so if you lose 7-10 games in a row you aren't sweating. You know that the percentages are there for you if you just follow along. Try to be unemotional. NBA is my best sport over the last 5 years and I've watched ZERO games in the past 3 years. I stopped watching because idiots making millions of dollars who can't make a free throw make me emotional about the games. Emotion and money are bad bedfellows. I am a former baseball player, a pitcher, I love baseball but don't watch much on TV because I hate the way the game is played now. NOBODY will choke up off the bottom of the bat. NOBODY cares if they strike out, and relief pitching is awful. The other thing is I don't want to be emotional about these games. My job is to look objectively and play the correct amount on each game.
- Make a money plan
- Be consistent
- Don't be emotional
If you can do that, and you have a method or service that can actually win a little bit, you can make money investing in sports.

A real nice day overall. TeamPSIC master investors were 2-0 and our free play was a winner. On the horse side we picked up a nice win. Our 8/1 Morning line was bet down to 2-1 but a win none the less.
